only got to work on it for a few hours today, fixed the proportions to match the concept a bit more, friend was kind enough to do a quick paint over to show the proportions, so hopefully i matched it a bit better
fixed the face, and cleaned up the clothing/armor pieces a bit but still lots left to do, and just found out about dynamesh w/ polish @.@ man.... wish i had known about that earlier...
now that i look at the picture maybe push the back in a bit so from 3/4 view her waist area has more of a curviness to it

been doing nothing but 2d drawings for the past few days... went back to do a little bit of 3d  for old times sake... still needs a bit of work but im satisfied w/ it for a days work but need to draw faces more... still having a hard time w/ it

started block out for the character, now that i see it in 3d theres a bunch of stuff to fix up and add some other armor pieces but overall i think the shapes came out ok

been working on some concepting for the polycount contest, first went for an organic theme but decided to switch to a mech theme after playing around in zbrush




concepted out the character, really like the feel of this guy, going to need to flesh it out some more and make the eagle/hawk creature that attaches to the character

retopo'ed everything and made everything super clean
still need to work on the cloth but thats the next step

made the shapes rounder and changed the shapes of some of the armor to make them look sightly different but still need to refine a bit more, going to add details once i have the final shapes all done


the paint over i did to make the shapes for the armor rounder and... more story and interesting... i should write out the story for the characters soon to get their final overall look and feel down

blocked out the basic shapes, my teacher told me to make it a male character, and ive been meaning to do a male character so yea... just made a male variant of the concept
and instead of doing just one, im gunna do 2, male and female, trying to come up w/ a story for these 2
so far all i have is that they both got one of their arms amputated because of some kind of explosion or wound and since theyre partners they have similar armor but one is more long ranged based and the other is med to close range so i need to change their armor design a bit later down the road

learning how to concept!! yayyy but man... had to go through so many iterations but the whole process def helped me zero in on what kinda style i wanted

still not finished, need to add the outer garment and add more cloth and rework some of the plating

just 2 more days until the last day to submit =D been a great experience and learned a lot and hopefully do better on the next character



doing a paint over of... basically nova and putting on cloth and etc on her, some straps and etc... still wondering if i should give her guns... or just stick w/ knives

anyways.... been working on  my arena net art test like crazy... been getting between 3-5 hrs of sleep a night or... afternoon or whenever i actually fall asleep to do this thing, still have lots left to do... detail detail detail and need to work on the skin and fur... blehkk fur is my nightmare...

oh and i spent a good 8 hours learning how to rig... finally and i think im getting the hang of it... the rigs are bad but... enough to pose the character XD

been working on the low poly, almost done but way under budget so im going to see if i can re...retopo some parts to give a better silhouette/gesture like ive learned through the critiques ive been receiving
hopefully get to start baking/texturing this weekend
need to watch lots of tutorials to do this right
and if i have time left over, ill finish up the sword for the character... just for kicks and make the final render look better XD

reworked a lot of stuff from critiques that i got
basically redid the helmet, and fixed some silhouette issues w/ armor pieces as well as making the edges sharper, and reworked the face a bit... hopefully it looks better? @.@ even though... u can barely see it
trying to figure out how to keep this all under 7500 tris but ill worry about that more when the time comes

worked on my organic hw today, wasnt able to put in seems yet... and the guild wars character but didnt make too big of changes so... not enough to post... going to start another character soon for the polycount monthly newb challenge

reworked and refined the armor, especially the pieces that were lacking, thanks to all the critiques i got from friends/professionals

wahoo getting closer and closer, i can feel it in mah bones XD
but yea need a lot more work and low poly/texturing, and only 2 weeks till gdc so... super crunch time, probably wont be getting too much sleep the next few days/2 weeks

almost finished, just need to have it critiqued 1 or 2 more times and done, then moving onto low rez


while friends were playing league, for some reason i felt like making a leg... which turned into 2 legs, then a torso, then the arms... then a head... very... odd order to make a body, hopefully will become my male base mesh
3 1/2 hrs
roughly 85% of this done from memory, looked at anatomy reference 3 times... probably should have looked at it more... @.@
